About HTML

1. What is HTML?

HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. It is the standard markup language used to create web pages and structure the content on the World Wide Web. HTML consists of a series of elements or tags that define the structure and content of a web page, such as headings, paragraphs, links, images, and more. These elements are used to format text, add multimedia elements, and create the overall layout and structure of a web page.

2. Why we are learning HTML

Learning HTML is fundamental for web development, serving as the backbone of web page creation. It's a universal language understood by all web browsers and enables content structuring, navigation, and linking. HTML's compatibility with CSS and JavaScript is essential in modern web development. It introduces web standards for creating accessible and high-quality websites and is a crucial skill for web-related careers, making it essential for web content creation and site building.

Popular web browsers include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari, and Opera. Web browsers interpret HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code from webpages and display them as visually rendered pages to users. They also provide features such as bookmarking, tabbed browsing, and security settings.
